Off-Campus Library Log In (Access ebooks & databases while using an off-campus Internet connection)

Why am I required to log in before accessing ebooks and article databases? Access to these licensed research databases is restricted to current students and employees of ECPI University. When you are using an off-campus Internet connection, you must log in to verify that you are in fact a current student or employee of ECPI University.  (Off-campus access to these electronic resources is not available to alumni.)

How do I log in? When logging in from "off campus," you will be prompted for a username and password.

When do I log in? When you open a database, reference, or ebook resource you will be prompted to log in. You do not have to log in to search the catalog.

STUDENTS:

The student username is the student ID. (Example = jandoe8788)
The student password is the student's Canvas password.

EMPLOYEES:

The employee username is the employee's email username. (Example = jsmith)
The employee password is the employee's email password.

Are there any additional troubleshooting tips?

  • Cookies must be enabled within your web browser (i.e. Edge, Chrome, Safari).
  • If you recently changed your ECPI University network password, you may need to clear the Internet history/cache within your browser before logging into Library databases.
  • Some users are unable to access EBSCO databases and receive the following error message: “A system problem has occurred.  To begin a new session, please login again.” If you receive this error message, you may need to switch web browsers.  Try using Google Chrome.

 

Why do I have to enter my full email address when using O'Reilly? O'Reilly works differently from other library resources. The O'Reilly platform requires all on-campus and off-campus users to create a O'Reilly user account with their ECPI University student/employee email.
