Section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act requires that all persons who maintain, service, repair or dispose of appliances that contain regulated substances be certified in proper refrigerant handling techniques.

General Exam Information

EPA Section 608 for HVACR (608-A31-J40)

  • Student Cost: $125.00 *
  • Number of questions: 100 in four (4) sections
  • Format: multiple choice paper or computer based standard exam
  • Test Length: 120 minutes
  • Passing Score: Minimum of 70% on each test section in which certification is needed.
