Backing Up to iCloud

Depending on the iOS version on your iPad, the steps shown in the videos may be slightly different or in a different order.

Updating iPad Software

Apple updates the iPad software (iOS) frequently. At times you will be prompted to update the software and at other times you may need to update the software manually. Before updating either way be sure you have backed up your iPad to iCloud.

To manually update software:

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap General
  • Tap Software Update
In order to update the iPad software, you must be connected to WiFi and have at least 50% battery power.

Downloading an App

To download an app on your iPad:

  • Tap on the App Store
  • Browse or search for the app you want to download
  • Tap on the app you want
  • Tap Get (if a price is listed, the app is not free)
  • Tap Install
  • If prompted, enter your Apple ID and password

The app will then download to your device.

Just like the software for the iPad, the apps you download will need updates periodically. To check for updates to your apps:

  • Go to the App Store
  • Select the Updates button at the bottom of the App store screen
  • Apps with available updates will be listed
  • Select the apps you want to update individually or tap "Update All" at the top right of the screen
